NET Builder Tutorial: Build a Small Corporate Host From Scratch
A complete, copy/paste-able 25-step walkthrough. Replace tutorial_net
and tutorial_corp with your own stable IDs if you want to keep this
one around afterward -- otherwise delete it when done (steps 24-25).
1. @nettopo/create tutorial_net = Tutorial Corp Network
2. @nettopo/plane tutorial_net 1 = Public NET | 0,20,0,20
3. @nettopo/terrain tutorial_net 1,1,1 = lane
4. @nettopo/terrain tutorial_net 5,5,1 = lane
5. @nettopo/ingress tutorial_net/default = 1,1,1 | Public Entry
6. @nettopo/node tutorial_net/tutorial_corp = 5,5,1 | Tutorial Corp Host
7. @nettopo/show tutorial_net (confirm plane/node/ingress)
8. @nethost/create tutorial_net/tutorial_corp = Tutorial Corp Host
9. @nethost/area-add tutorial_net/tutorial_corp cpu = CPU Core
10. @nethost/area-add tutorial_net/tutorial_corp vault = Data Vault
11. @nethost/connect tutorial_net/tutorial_corp login_to_cpu = login -> cpu | east
12. @nethost/connect tutorial_net/tutorial_corp cpu_to_login = cpu -> login | west
13. @nethost/connect tutorial_net/tutorial_corp cpu_to_vault = cpu -> vault | north
14. @nethost/access tutorial_net/tutorial_corp cpu_to_login = 200
15. @netice/create tutorial_wall = Tutorial Wall 1.0 | 150
16. @nethost/ice tutorial_net/tutorial_corp cpu_to_login = tutorial_wall
17. @nethice/create tutorial_spider = Tutorial Spider 1.0 | 120
18. @nethost/hice tutorial_net/tutorial_corp cpu_to_login = tutorial_spider
19. @nethost/account-add tutorial_net/tutorial_corp guest = 0 | guestpass
20. @nethost/reconcile tutorial_net tutorial_corp
21. @nethost/vault-set tutorial_net/tutorial_corp = vault
22. @nethost/vault-add tutorial_net/tutorial_corp text = Welcome Note
23. @nethost/check tutorial_net/tutorial_corp (should report no problems)
Optional -- make the vault a paid storefront (requires an existing
economic account; see staff for one, or skip this if just exploring):
@nethost/vault-seller tutorial_net/tutorial_corp = <existing_account_id>
@nethost/vault-price tutorial_net/tutorial_corp <file#> = 50
Optional -- clone, tune, and actually RUN a software variant
(every current source program's behavior is migrated, so this works
for anything you clone):
@netsoft/clone tutorial_scan = gothix_icescan
@netsoft/set tutorial_scan display_name = Tutorial Scanner
@netsoft/show tutorial_scan
(install a real copy on your deck, jack in, stand in the host's
login area, then: run Tutorial Scanner north -- reports the SAME
real boundary state Gothix IceScan would, under your clone's own
name.)
Optional -- spawn a real hardware item:
@nethardware/spawn gothix_hi_density_ramcard
24. @nethost/vault-remove tutorial_net/tutorial_corp <file#> (cleanup)
25. Full teardown: @nethost can never delete anything (host
decommission is a separate, future staff feature), and
@nettopo/delete refuses while a host is still attached to the
network. If this was just a practice run, leave the fixture in
place, or ask staff about a supported teardown path.
