armor effectiveness detail (Armor Effectiveness)

Armor Effectiveness

Use:

    armor effectiveness

to display the protection matrix for every canonical armor material.

Each material has a base effectiveness percentage against each damage
family, including bullets, stabbing, cutting, blunt force, laceration,
burn, electrical, and chemical damage.

Actual protection is scaled by the armor piece's current Armor Rating:

    final effectiveness =
material effectiveness × (current Armor Rating / 10)

At 100% durability, current Armor Rating normally equals the item's
original/base Armor Rating.

Example:

    Kevlar base bullet effectiveness: 80%
    Armor Rating: 5

    80% × (5 / 10) = 40% final effectiveness

As armor loses durability, its current Armor Rating can fall below its
base rating, reducing protection. Repairing the armor restores
durability and can restore lost Armor Rating.

Firearm penetration may reduce the armor layer's effective Armor Rating
before the material multiplier is applied.
